In 1999, one of Spekaer Fulfillment Services co-founders, Bret Ridgway, began providing back-of-the-room sales services and managing a bookstore at various Internet marketing conferences. This lead him to getting to know a lot of the speakers at these events very well.
At one of these events in 2003, one of the speakers cornered Bret and asked him if he would take over product fulfillment for that speaker. He knew Bret was doing product fulfillment for some of his own websites and the speaker wanted to free up his time for more valuable marketing and product development activities. So, as deal was struck and the rest, as they say, is history.
